The workshop/meeting on Open Quantum Systems: Recent Developments of Quantum Information held in Belgium

Dynamics of Dissipative Quantum Systems
between the Theoretical Physics Research Group, University of Kwazulu Natal, Durban (SA) and the Institute for Theoretical Physics, Catholic University of Leuven (BE) and
Dynamical Aspects of Entanglement in Complex Quantum Systems
between the Institute for Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics, University of Gdansk (PL), the Department of Atomic Physics, Jagiellonian University, Krakow (PL) and the Institute for Theoretical Physics, Catholic University of Leuven (BE).

The focus is on theoretical aspects of dynamical systems designed to implement quantum information devices.
Special attention will be paid to decoherence phenomena due to interactions with a largely unknown environment and to the competition between scalability and quantumness.

The workshop will consist of about a dozen one-hour and a few half-hour contributions, partly by invited experts outside the organizing cooperations.
On December 3 & 4 there will be a meeting between the participants of the cooperations to assess its activities and prospect future developments.

The meetings
These will take place in the Nicolas de le Ville room, located at the Campusbibliotheek Arenberg. For further information on how to get there please click on the link address.
