Title: Exact description of open quantum systems in bosonic thermostats

Abstract: The theory of open quantum systems currently attracts a lot of attention due to the universality of the underlying ideas. Unfortunately, the vast majority of models in the theory do not allow exact description by standard quantum mechanical approaches. Recently, J. Shao proposed an approach to open quantum systems which potentially allows one the exact study of open quantum systems by solving stochastic equations. In this talk I will present the application of the Shao method to open quantum systems in bosonic thermostats. In this particular case, all the parameters in the formal stochastic equation can be calculated exactly that makes it possible to apply powerful numerical techniques to study the equation. I will show on concrete examples the potential and difficulties of this approach.
