Quantum Channels provide the most general framework for the consideration of quantum information processing, and the mathematical foundations for the study of many dynamical aspects of open quantum systems – such as convergence properties, stability and fixed points. In this series we will  introduce the notion of a quantum channel and proceed to survey a collection of important results, with direct application to both quantum information processing and open quantum systems. A background in both linear algebra and quantum mechanics is required.
