Title“Precision measurement of the W Boson Mass”
Abstract:
Prior to the Discovery of a Higgs like boson at CERN, Indirect constraints could be placed on the mass of the standard model Higgs Boson due to the interaction between the top quark, the W boson, and the Higgs Boson. The current world average value of the W Boson mass is 80.385 GeV +- 15 MeV, and is driven by measurements at the Tevatron. I will describe in detail the recent measurement of the W Mass from the D0 experiment.
Tea/coffee & biscuits will be served at 11h00
