Title: “My MSc Experience at CERN”

Abstract:

“The ATLAS experiment at the LHC at CERN in Geneva is one of the biggest and most expensive experiments ever conducted. The Standard Model of Particle Physics, which offers our most complete understanding of the Universe, is being tested by the experiment to limits never before possible. Evidence of one of the final missing pieces of the Standard Model, the Higgs boson, was recently found at ATLAS. However, it is not yet clear if this is the Standard Model Higgs boson, or if it belongs to one of many Higgs bosons in proposed supersymmetric extensions to the model. Some of these supersymmetric Higgs bosons will decay to two tau leptons. This talk will focus on my experience doing research on supersymmetric Higgs bosons decaying to two tau leptons, living and working at CERN and how students can get involved.”
