Jason holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Mathematics from the University of Cape Town, and has a background in analytics, theoretical computer science, cryptography and computational complexity. He is an MSc Physics candidate in the Quantum Research Group at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. His current research focuses on the expressive power of quantum variational circuits, and how they may be used in tandem with machine learning algorithms. Specifically, he is looking into how quantum boolean formulas can be used in binary classification tasks. He has a strong interest in interdisciplinary fields and unconventional computing.
